William S. Ayres
Bill Ayres is the President of Ayres Carr & Sullivan, P.C.. His practice focuses on Business and Corporate law, Family law, Personal Injury, and Trial law.
Bill graduated from the Indiana University School of Law in 1976. He is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana, before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Bill is a member of the Indianapolis, Indiana state, and American bar associations. In addition to practicing law as an attorney, Bill is a certified mediator.
In his personal life, Bill is married with five children, and is an ardent supporter of Lutheran High School’s sports programs.

John R. Carr
John Carr is the firm’s senior member and Chief Operating Officer and concentrates much of his practice in Bankruptcy, Insurance Law, and Employee Benefits.
John graduated from the Indiana University School of Law in 1974. He has had cases heard before the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and numerous bankruptcy courts in Indiana and throughout the United States.
John is a member of the Indianapolis, Indiana State, American, and Seventh Circuit Bar Associations, as well as the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. He has been a frequent lecturer, author, panelist, and program chair and has served on numerous bar-related boards and committees. In addition, he has served on several Indiana Supreme Court task forces and has been active in lobbying for legislation to improve the administration of justice.
In his free time, John is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys joining and supporting organizations that help conserve wilderness and wildlife. He also supports historic preservation and various historical societies.

Michael R. Franceschini
Michael R. Franceschini, a member in the firm, was born in Lafayette, Indiana. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington for his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and obtained his law degree from Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. In 1975 he joined the Indiana bar and was licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court, Southern District; in 1980, he was licensed to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. In 1994 he was also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court’s Northern District of Indiana.
Early in his legal career, Mike served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Richard Givan of the Supreme Court of Indiana, and since 1982 has served on the Indiana Supreme Court’s Committee on Character and Fitness.
In addition to belonging to the Indiana State Bar, Mike is a member of the American Bar Association and the Indianapolis and Hancock County bar associations. He focuses his practice on Civil Trial law, Appellate law, Corporate law, Estate Planning and Probate.
Outside of the law firm, Mike is a member of the board of advisers for The Little Sisters of the Poor of Indianapolis, Inc. In his spare time, Mike is an active sailor and has raced the Chicago to Mackinac Island Race many years and is a past Commodore of the Indianapolis Sailing Club.

Bret S. Clement
Bret, a member in the firm, attended the University of Notre Dame for his undergraduate accounting degree, then crossed enemy lines and enrolled at the University of Michigan for law school, where he graduated cum laude in 1979.
Bret was admitted to the Indiana bar in 1979, and has been practicing law since. Bret’s practice focuses on Estate and Business Planning, Bankruptcy Reorganization, Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation, Federal and State Taxation and Corporate matters.
In 1984 Bret served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law at Indiana University and taught a course on Estate and Gift Taxation. Bret is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars on a variety of estate planning issues as well as other topics.

Patrick M. O’Brien
Pat O’Brien is a member in the firm and a native Hoosier born in Rensselaer, Indiana. He attended the University of Miami for his undergraduate degree and Indiana University for his legal education, where he also earned an MBA. In 1986 he was admitted to the Indiana state bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
From 1986 to 2001 Pat served as an adjunct instructor in MBA Accounting at Butler University. He has also been with the law firm since 1986, and is a member of the Indianapolis, the Indiana State and American bar associations.
Pat primarily practices in State and Local Taxation Law, Personal Injury law, Family law, Real Estate law, and Criminal law including DUI offenses and traffic violations.
Away from the office, Pat is an avid football and basketball fan, and a diehard supporter of IU.

Thomas B. Bricker
Tom graduated magna cum laude from the Valparaiso University School of Law’s Honors Program. While there, he wrote for the Valparaiso University Law Revew.
Tom passed the Indiana Bar and became a practicing attorney at Ayres Carr & Sullivan, P.C. in October 2010, where he continues to practice law as a general practitioner with a business emphasis. As an attorney, Tom has been heavily involved in appellate work, and has briefed several cases that have gone before the Indiana Court of Appeals.
When not practicing law, Tom enjoys visiting theme parks and U.S. National Parks and is a semi-professional photographer.
